In May 2012, the International Single Species Action Plan for the Conservation of Sociable Lapwing was published by the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) and the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA).  This was prepared with financial support from the UK Government’s Darwin Initiative and Swarovski Optik through BirdLife International’s Preventing Extinctions Programme.
